Russia Celebrates Trump’s Tense Meeting with Zelensky

A Heated Exchange in the White House

The much-anticipated meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday took an unexpected turn when discussions reportedly erupted into a heated argument. The tension escalated to the point that Trump allegedly ordered Zelensky to leave the White House.

While the meeting was initially intended to finalize a deal on Ukraine’s mineral rights, it instead turned into a public confrontation, with both Trump and his Vice President, JD Vance, berating Zelensky in full view of journalists and officials.

Russian Leaders Applaud Trump and Vance

Following the clash, Russian officials wasted no time in celebrating what they saw as a humiliating defeat for Zelensky.

  • Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and a close ally of Vladimir Putin, posted on X:
“The insolent pig finally got a proper slap down in the Oval Office. And @realDonaldTrump is right: The Kiev regime is ‘gambling with WWIII.’”

  • Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, praised Trump and Vance for their restraint, while calling Zelensky’s remarks at the White House “his biggest lie.”

  • Russian Senator Andrei Klishas described the incident as a “brilliant result,” mocking Zelensky’s performance and claiming he was “thrown out for bad behavior.”

With the White House taking an increasingly hardline stance against Ukraine, Friday’s events may signal a shift in U.S. foreign policy that aligns more closely with Russian interests.
